DB6 handles up to three SD/HD/3G streams in a single rack space unit. It measures and adjusts audio formats, loudness and true-peak level automatically, at the same time logging stats for documentation and evaluation.

One-Step Loudness Management

Quite simply, DB6 is a TV and Mobile TV transmission processor that is able to handle everything regarding loudness in one simple process: loudness metering at the input stage, up- and/or down conversion at any stage, loudness processing, on-line lip-sync delay, loudness metering at the output stage and logging of all relevant loudness statistics.

In short, it is an intelligent one-step loudness management solution that even keeps your audio at its finest, regardless of which platform you need to deliver to.

True Value

Density is key at many broadcast stations and of course in OB Vans. Therefore, DB6 is housed in a single rack space unit that allows you to process up to three SD/HD/3G streams simultaneously, making it one of the most compact and powerful solutions on the market.

Surely, density does not necessarily equal cost-effectiveness, but in this particular case, the cost per stream is highly competitive. With DB6, you get two 5.1 capable processing engines per SDI stream, each able of delivering to any platform and any codec; be it HDTV, Mobile TV, Digital Radio or Podcast using AAC, Dolby, Ogg Vorbis, Lossless or Linear.

Forever Compliant

DB6 is compliant with all major broadcast standards, and it comes fully loaded with presets tailored specifically with each of these standards in mind.

However, it is not just a matter of being compliant, it is also imperative to stay compliant.

We have taken part in many aspects of defining and developing these standards and remain dedicated to keeping our broadcast equipment up to date whenever a new revision is released.

One-Step Processing

DB6 is like having a Plug & Play solution to Loudness. It combines all your loudness related tasks into one simple, easy-to-operate process. Once it is set up, you can leave it alone to work its wonders, and while setting it up the, you'll notice how flexible the unit is.

As the diagram shows, you can apply two LoudnessWizard algorithms to each SDI stream, but on top of that you can also add one or two LM6 Loudness Radar Meters on either side of the LoudnessWizard in order to measure loudness before as well as after any processing has happened.

LoudnessWizard™

The LoudnessWizard™ algorithm takes care of loudness correction, up-conversion from stereo to surround formats and down-conversion from surround to stereo.

It doesn't matter if you know every detail of the inner workings of loudness standards - just apply LoudnessWizard™ and let it combine and chain together multiple processes on the fly.

LM6 Loudness Radar Meter™

Our LM6 Loudness Radar Meter measures loudness at the input stage as well as the output stage of DB6.

In short, it shows you the essence of your loudness landscape at a glance for a complete and instant overview, including Loudness History, Momentary Loudness, True-peak Level, Program Loudness and Loudness Range (LRA) in a single view.

Multi Platform Delivery

No matter the input format MONO, STEREO or 5.1 SURROUND, DB6 can deliver to both SDTV, HDTV and MOBILE platforms simultaneously. DB6 UpConverts and/or DownMixes any input format, and can deliver for multiple loudness targets in one go.

Redundancy & Reliability

It does not matter how well a transmission unit does its job, if it is not completely reliable. Being the last line of defense in a live scenario calls for ultimate redundancy and realiability.

We're serious about being fail-safe. Not only have we given you what you would expect - dual fans and dual fuses - we've also packed the DB6 with dual power inlets.  You are now virtually risk-free of losing power while on air.

We are aware that DB6 is inserted at a very critical point in your audio signal path and that it is an 'always on' type of unit that needs to deliver a non-stop performance years over years. Should the unlikely event happen that DB6 loses power, rest assured that your transmission will go on thanks to the Relay Bypass feature that passes your stream directly from input to output no matter what happens. 

Further, if one of the power sources fail, you can be notified using GPIO or SNMP traps.
