The Audient HORIZON 8P is a Thunderbolt 3 audio interface with 24 inputs and 32 outputs, designed as a complete recording front end for professional studios and producers. It features eight Audient console microphone preamps with up to 75 dB of gain, Smartgain and digital recall, providing a console-style recording workflow in a compact 1U chassis.
The HORIZON 8P includes AURA Control with variable input impedance and three selectable tonal characteristics: High, Mid and Low. This allows the microphone preamps to be adapted to different microphones and sound sources, including ribbon, dynamic and condenser microphones.
For hybrid studio setups, eight line inputs and outputs via DB25 provide connectivity for external outboard equipment. The interface also features 32-bit/192 kHz conversion with 133 dB dynamic range, dual ADAT I/O for up to 16 additional digital channels, two speaker outputs for A/B monitoring and two headphone outputs.
The HORIZON 8P provides hardware monitor control and HORIZON Control software with virtual patchbay, individual monitoring, Comfort Reverb and four separate cue mixes. With Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, 0.99 ms round-trip latency at 192 kHz/64 samples and support for up to four HORIZON units, it can form part of a scalable professional recording system.
