Barefoot Sound celebrates a new milestone in the prestigious Footprint series with the latest generation monitor “Barefoot Sound Footprint FP-03”. Perfectly suited for smaller rooms or mobile solutions, the Barefoot Sound Footprint FP-03 combines the exceptional sound quality and elegant design of its predecessors in a compact format, at an extremely competitive price.
The Footprint01™ is a active 3-way speaker that shares the same Barefoot signature designs — Dual-Force™ technology opposing sub woofers, dual ring radiator tweeter and Multi-Emphasis Monitor Emulation™ technology — as the MicroMain and MasterStack monitor lines. Footprint01 features dual opposing 8-inch paper cone subwoofers, a 4-inch aluminum cone midrange driver and a 1-inch dual ring radiating tweeter, components that all share a lineage with Barefoot’s other products.
Barefoot Sound hit a sweet spot when it introduced the Footprint01, the first in a new line of active 3-way speakers designed specifically for today’s evolving production workflows. Recording engineers, producers, composers, musicians and beat-makers as well as post-production professionals quickly recognized that the Footprint01 offered the sonic character and design features of Barefoot Sound’s high-end studio monitors, but in a smaller package and at a more affordable price. Now, the best 3-way monitor in its class has been joined by the Footprint02, a similar but smaller active nearfield speaker at an even more affordable price, offering the same uncompromising audio quality and design characteristics as the Footprint01. But these two models don’t just share each other’s looks and quality, it also the same Barefoot signature designs — Dual-Force™ technology opposing sub woofers, dual ring radiator tweeter and Multi-Emphasis Monitor Emulation™ or MEME — Technology first featured in their flagship MicroMain and MiniMain series.
The MasterStack12 represents the pinnacle of Barefoot’s achievements in monitor speaker design to-date. Barefoot’s flagship reference monitor system is a 4.5-way active modular tower with 10 drive units — a 1-in. ring radiator tweeter, two 2.5-in. mid-range, three 7-in. woofers and four 12-in. subwoofers — housed in two cabinets. A third enclosure houses signal and power distribution and may be optionally used as a decoupling base unit for each tower.
Barefoot’s compact MicroStack45 stereo system comprises two MicroMain45 3-way active nearfield reference monitors and two MicroSub45 Dual-Force™ technology subwoofers. Each system combines six high-excursion 8-inch woofers, four 2.5-inch midrange drivers and two 1-inch tweeters working seamlessly together as a single unit driven by 2220W of power.

The MiniMain12 is a 4-way active system with 7 drive units housed in sealed enclosures spanning 20Hz to 40kHz with vanishingly low distortion, breathtaking dynamic range and ultra-fast transient response. Every driver has an under-hung voice coil moving inside an advanced geometry motor that enables it make extremely long linear excursions. The ring radiator tweeter is incredibly detailed and produces very wide dispersion out to its highest frequencies. The aluminum cone subwoofers, woofers and midranges radiate as perfect pistons to at least 2.5 octaves beyond their respective bandwidths. Barefoot has teamed up with the brilliant Bruno Putzeys of Hypex to develop the powerful and completely transparent amplifier stage of the MM12. Melding the system together is a groundbreaking DSP crossover that has taken Thomas Barefoot more than 4 years to develop. With beautifully designed high end converts and cutting edge proprietary filtering techniques the MiniMain12 produces such a seamless and coherent wavefront that, if you dare, you can actually listen to this speaker from less than 3 feet away with no sonic compromise. And yes, the MM12 works perfectly out to far field distances as well, producing SPLs equivalent to big mains. If all this weren’t enough, the MiniMain12 brings yet another revolutionary feature into the mix - MEME™(Multi Emphasis Monitor Emulation™) technology. While no other monitor in the world can match the MM12′s linearity and transparency, the MM12 actually has the capability to emulate other speakers! Despite the advantages of high resolution monitors, Thomas Barefoot realizes that many engineers still use their NS10M’s † and mix cubes as secondary references. These speakers have long traditions and people find them familiar and useful for focusing in on certain aspects of their mix. However, crowding one’s console with those extra boxes degrades the sound field of the primary reference monitors. Not to mention, they are no longer manufactured, they need amplifiers, cable runs, and they consume more studio space. So why not make the MM12 sound and translate like those speakers as well? With the turn of a knob one can switch from the MiniMain12′s brutally revealing “Flat” response to the warmer and sweeter “Hi-Fi” setting, generically emulating the sound of some high end consumer audio gear. More specifically the “Old School” setting closely emulates the sound of the NS10M nearfield, while the “Cube” setting emulates the mid-centric sound of classic mix cubes The idea is not to perfectly replicate every subtle quirk of these venerable old speakers. That would be impossible. But the MiniMain12 can capture the essence of how they behave and translate, modeling their frequency, phase and transient responses, dynamic compression and even some of their distortion components. If you know how to work on these speaker you will feel very comfortable working on the MM12′s emulation settings. So there you have it: The Barefoot Sound MiniMain12, a monitor like no other. † NS10M is a trademark of Yamaha Corp. and has no affiliation with Barefoot Sound.

Barefoot Sound is proud to introduce the MicroMain26. Based on the renowned MicroMain27 Gen2 platform, the MM26 raises the performance to new highs with the addition of Barefoot’s incredibly transparent and detailed 2.5” aluminum cone midrange. The MicroMain26 delivers everything the MM27 is famous for and even more.
The Barefoot Sound MicroMain27 Gen2 takes Barefoot’s all-in-one monitoring concept to new heights. Unwilling to rest on his laurels, Thomas Barefoot has spent years further refining one of the most revered recording studio monitors in the world. These refinements preserve the effortless translation Barefoot Sound is known for, but are an evolution, yielding even greater transparency and inner detail. Barefoot Sound is proud to introduce the second generation MM27. Now featuring our amazing Speaker Emulation technology, the MicroMain27 Gen2 precisely models the essential response and translation characteristics of other classic studio monitors, simply with turn of a knob. If this weren't enough, the renowned MM27 is augmented with advanced new electronics and drivers giving it even greater dimension and transparency across the entire audio spectrum. Speaker Emulation Technology The MM27 Gen2 also adds Speaker Emulation Technology to its list of features. Barefoot has gone to great lengths to utilize DSP processing to model the voicing characteristics and responses of classic studio nearfield monitors. A four-position wired remote allows users to quickly switch through different voices to preview mixes on other types of speakers without having the clutter of multiple speaker systems. Hi-Fi sweetens the high end and warms mid-range to behave much like consumer hi-fi systems. Flat is the default voicing, offering the true Barefoot Sound. The response is even and very revealing. OldScl captures the essence of the ubiquitous NS10M. The setting rolls off sub-bass and top-end information while pulling forward mid-range presence. Cube is a nod to the “aura” of the classic full-range micro monitors of yesterday. This is a valuable setting in the age of laptops, tablets and ear buds.
