Product information "Pinnacle Microphones Fat Top Black Single"
The Pinnacle Microphones Fat Top Black Single is a passive short-ribbon microphone designed for a warm, rich, full and rounded tonal character. Its hand-tuned ribbon element uses a symmetrical design to provide a true figure-8 polar pattern with balanced pickup from the front and rear of the ribbon.
The microphone uses a 99.99% pure aluminum ribbon with a thickness of 2.5 microns. Its bidirectional response provides a pronounced side null, making it useful for isolating sound sources in multi-microphone recording setups. The short-ribbon design is particularly suited to sources where a smooth and full sound is desired.
The Fat Top is suitable for guitar cabinets, piano, brass, percussion, vocals, strings and other studio sources. Its figure-8 pattern also makes it suitable for Mid-Side and Blumlein recording techniques. The black version features a black body with a silver grille and uses the stock transformer configuration.
