As always, it’s all about compression, which is why Timbre was created — an all-tube vari-mu compressor based on the classic 6386 tube, inspired by the iconic Gates STA-Level.
Timbre is easy to use and delivers rich color, warmth, and sweetness, crafted with premium components to achieve a truly vintage sound.
To expand on the original design, new features have been added, including a third operating mode with a faster attack time, a high-pass sidechain filter, stereo linking, and a bypass function.
A unique program-controlled release circuit ensures smooth and consistent compression behavior.
Even with up to 40dB of gain reduction, Timbre maintains stability and avoids unwanted artifacts, making it a powerful tool for professional audio applications.
